Privacy Policy

We collect as little as we can, we use it only to answer you and do the work, and we do not sell it or pass it to anyone who does not need it. If you want to know what we hold about you, or want it deleted, email us and we will sort it.

Stamford Creative is a web design and marketing business based in Stamford, Lincolnshire, run by James Richardson. For data protection purposes we are the data controller for the information described here.

When you fill in a form on this site. Your name, email address, phone number if you give it, your business name and website if you give them, and whatever you write in the message. We use this to reply to you and, if you become a client, to do the work. The lawful basis is legitimate interests — you contacted us and expect an answer — or, once we are working together, performance of a contract.

When you join the mailing list. Your name and email address, used only to send the emails you asked for. The lawful basis is consent, and you can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.

When you simply visit. Our hosting keeps standard server logs including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. If analytics are running on this site they are described in our cookie policy, and non-essential cookies are only set if you agree to them.

We do not collect special category data, and we do not use your information to make automated decisions or to build a profile of you.

Only the suppliers we need to run the business, and only the part they need:

Our website host, which stores form submissions and server logs. Our email provider, which carries the messages between us. Our email marketing platform, if you have joined the list. Our accountant and accounting software, for invoices and the records HMRC requires.

Each of these is bound to protect your information and to use it only on our instructions. Where a supplier processes data outside the UK, that transfer is covered by the safeguards UK law requires. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.

Enquiries that do not become work: two years, then deleted. Client records: seven years after the last piece of work, because tax law requires it. Mailing list: until you unsubscribe. Server logs: as long as our host retains them, typically a few months.

You have the right to ask for a copy of what we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

Email us and we will respond within one month. There is no charge. If you are not happy with how we have handled it you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

The site runs over an encrypted connection. Access to form submissions and client records is limited to us and protected by strong, unique passwords with two-factor authentication where the service offers it. No system is perfect, and if a breach ever put your rights at risk we would tell you and the ICO within the time the law allows.

If we change how we handle your information we will update this page. Where the change is significant we will say so rather than quietly amend it.
