Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device so it can remember something. Some are needed for the site to work at all. Others watch how the site is used so the owner can improve it. Under UK law we can set the first kind without asking, but the second kind needs your permission.

Strictly necessary. WordPress sets a small number of cookies to keep forms secure and to remember you if you are logged in as an administrator. These cannot be turned off without breaking the site, and they do not track you.

Preferences. This site remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. That choice is stored on your own device, is not sent to us, and is not used for anything else.

Measurement. If analytics are running, they record which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from, so we can see what is useful and what is not. These are only set if you agree, and you can change your mind at any time.

What we do not do. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not share cookie data with advertising networks.

If a consent banner appeared when you arrived, you can reopen it and change your choice at any time. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings — every major browser lets you do this, usually under Privacy. Blocking all cookies will stop some parts of this and most other sites from working properly.

Pages that embed something from elsewhere — a map, a video, a booking system — may allow that provider to set its own cookies once the embed loads. We keep embeds to a minimum for exactly this reason. Where one is used, the provider’s own policy applies.
