Logos, brand marks and print design for Stamford businesses — an identity you own outright, in every format a printer or signwriter will ever ask you for.

A logo is the start, not the job

Most people come asking for a logo. What they usually need is a small, consistent set of things that make the business look like the same business everywhere it appears — on the van, on the sign, on the invoice, on the phone.

A logo on its own does not do that. Two colours, one typeface and a rule about how they go together does, and it is the difference between looking established and looking like four different companies wearing the same name.

That does not mean it has to be a big project. For a lot of the businesses around here the whole thing is a mark, a palette, a typeface and a one-page guide to using them. It just has to be made on purpose rather than assembled from whatever was on the laptop that day.

A mark is only worth what it does — everywhere it turns up.

How it works

The order it happens in

01

Understand the business first

Who buys from you, who you are up against, and what you want people to think before they have spoken to anybody. Half an hour here saves a fortnight of guessing later.

02

Draw far more than you will use

Directions get explored properly, on paper and on screen, at the size it will actually be seen. A mark that only works at hero size is not finished.

03

Refine the one

You pick a direction and it gets built out — weights, spacing, the version for a square avatar, the one-colour version for a stamp or an embroidered polo shirt.

04

Hand over the kit

Every file format you will ever be asked for, colour codes for screen and print, and a short guide anyone can follow without ringing me.

Logo and wordmark

The primary mark, a stacked version, an icon-only version and a one-colour version. Enough to cover a website header, a business card and the back of a van.

Colour and type

A palette that works on screen and survives being printed, and typefaces you can actually license and use in documents rather than admire in a PDF.

Print and signage

Business cards, letterheads, signage artwork, vehicle graphics and roll-up banners, set up correctly for whoever is producing them.

You own the files

Source artwork is yours on handover, not held hostage. If somebody else does your next job, they can pick it straight up.

Real formats, not just a PNG

Vector artwork in the formats printers and signwriters ask for, plus the everyday ones for Word, Canva and social profiles.

No marketplace templates

Nothing bought from a logo marketplace and edited. That is how two businesses in the same town end up with the same mark.

What it costs

Three ways in

Fixed price, agreed before we start. If a project genuinely needs more, you hear it before the work happens, not on the invoice.

Send me what you have got and I will tell you honestly whether it needs replacing or just tidying up. Plenty of marks are fine and simply being used badly, and that is a much cheaper fix.
