The brief

Project objectives

  • Look like nothing else in a very samey search
  • Put the price of every session on the page
  • Say what is included so nothing is argued about later
  • Make the brand and the build one job, not two

What we did

Headshots are a crowded search with a very samey look: grey backdrop, folded arms, blue suit. Rutland Headshot Studio, another of ours, was built to look like none of that.

The brand is cobalt and hot pink with a heavy italic display face and a set of illustrated characters, and the homepage leads with an animated one rather than a photograph. It is a deliberate risk — a studio that promises coloured gels and a bit of personality should not open with a stock grey portrait.

Underneath it is a straightforward booking site. Business, actor, personal and on site team headshots, each with its price on the page, and retouching, an online gallery and a full licence included in every one. Retouched files come back inside forty eight hours. Sessions are coached rather than silent, which is the part most people are quietly worried about.

The brand, the illustration and the build were all done here, which is why the site and the identity are the same thing rather than one dressed in the other.

Fancy being our next one?
